Official Bio
Author of the Cordell Logan mysteries, David Freed is an instrument-rated pilot, produced Hollywood screenwriter, and a former staff writer for the Los Angeles Times. He was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize Gold Medal for Community Service, the highest award in American journalism, and shared in a Pulitzer for coverage of the Rodney King riots. David reported from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq during Operation Desert Storm. He later worked as a contractor for the CIA and Defense Intelligence Agency, and as a contributing editor at Air & Space Smithsonian magazine. He holds a master’s degree from Harvard University and teaches creative writing at Harvard Extension School. He lives in Santa Barbara, California.
